Agro Production |
Modern Agro production is products related
to agriculture. Agro on the other hand means field so therefore any kind of
food may it be raw or processed as long as it came from the field then it is
classified as Agro products.
Food as we all know is one of the main
basic necessities of human kind in order for us to live. It is a source of
survival, sustainability and a way of living.
In terms of economic growth, Agriculture and
industry are different. Agriculture can be identified as the first step or the
hallmark of the development. While on the other hand, industrialization is a
relevant indicator to know the current progress of the country.
Though the two are different the correlations
that they have to each other is evident.
Agriculture plays an important role in countries progress and economic growth.
President
Yoweri Museveni said that: “it is
important for the population to know that it is possible to overcome poverty
through modern agro-production, adding that even with a small acreage of four acres,
activities like fruit farming, coffee growing, zero grazing poultry, piggery
and the growing of matooke can earn a household reasonable income.”
He
also mentioned that: “He expressed
optimism that the country was on the right track in defeating house hold
poverty since many of the citizens have grasped and adhered to the message of
raising household income through modern agriculture and value addition. He
noted that although Ugandans had taken long to embrace the message of adopting
modern profit oriented agriculture to overcome poverty, there were signs in
different parts of the country that a reasonable fraction of the population had
woken up to this call.”
Farmers
should learn the importance and value of helping each other and sharing what
they have instead of just having the things they acquire from their own land.
Just
like in any other projects or plans, discussion and research plays an integral
part of identifying on how to plan and strategize. Upon discussion and
identifying the correlations, next step will be knowing the process and how the
process will work.
Mr.
Museveni also: “Assured the people that the government does not lack the start-up
capital to give to citizens but said that the funds were being mismanaged in
some of the government programs such as the National Agricultural Advisory
Services (NAADS) that has concentrated on conducting seminars and sensitization
programs than availing farmers with farm inputs.”
Humphrey Kariuki Ndegwa is an African business ingenue. Back in 2002, he decided to flesh out his vision of a more sustainable energy system in Africa by establishing Dalbit Petroleum. Today, more than 10 years hence, Dalbit Petroleum is now Dalbit International and Humphrey continues to think of ways to improve the economic competence of African businesses.
